About the app
Small Steps is a countdown and reminder app developed by Runze Liu (刘润泽). It does not require an account. We do not operate a server that receives your events or photos, and the app does not include advertising, tracking or third-party analytics services.
Information stored on your device
Event names, notes, dates, repeat rules, categories, preferences and photo characters are stored locally. The app shares the information needed to display widgets with its own system widget extension through an on-device shared container. It also gives the operating system the event information required for notifications, alarms and supported voice actions.
The app does not provide its own cloud synchronization service. Device backups and system services, if enabled by you, are governed by the relevant platform settings and policies.
Photos and image editing
The app accesses photos you select to create a character. Cutout, cropping, brush edits and visual effects are processed on-device. Photos and edited results are not sent to a developer-operated server or an online image model. Temporary images and widget previews may be cached on the device.
Notifications, alarms and voice services
Local notifications and alarms are scheduled with the operating system after you grant the relevant permission. You can change these permissions in system Settings. Siri, dictation and other system assistants process voice requests under their own platform settings and privacy policies; the app receives the resulting event details. We do not operate a speech-recognition service or upload voice recordings ourselves.
External links and support email
If you open an event link, the destination website applies its own privacy practices. If you email us for help, we receive the address, message and attachments you choose to send and use them to respond to your request. Please avoid including private event information that is not needed for support.
Your choices
You can edit or delete events and remove photo characters in the app. Removing a card from the home page only hides that card; it does not delete the events. Uninstalling the app removes its local app data according to the operating system's behavior. Copies retained in device backups or in support correspondence are separate from the app's local records.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if the app's data practices change. The date above identifies this policy version. For privacy questions, contact lshengli0215@163.com.
